Associated companies

Create directories for dealerships, recovery agents, and other third-party services, and assign those companies to specific accounts.


If you use different vendors for different accounts (like regional repossession companies or call centers that focus on different credit products), associated company directories let you track which company is assigned to which account.

Getting started

The following steps outline the process to create an associate company directory:

  1. First, create a directory listing all of your companies in a given category (collections, liquidation, etc.).
  2. Create an associated company custom field determining where in the account this information will be stored.
  3. Assign specific companies to individual accounts.

Creating a new directory

To create a new directory of companies:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Loan > Custom Fields > Associated Company Directory.
  2. Click, 'Add' and choose ‘New Directory’.
  3. Enter a name for your directory in the field provided and click 'Save'.
  4. To add a company to the directory, click 'Add' again and choose ‘New Company’.
  5. Enter the company name, and choose the directory the company should be added to from the ‘Directory’ drop-down. Enter the phone number, email address, and any other available information. Click 'Save'.

Creating an associated company custom field

To create a custom field for an associated company:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Loan > Custom Fields > Custom. Click 'Add'. 
  2. Set the ‘Field Type’ setting to ‘Associated Company’. 
  3. Set the ‘Directory’ field. Enter a name for the field as well as other settings.

Assigning an associated company

Associated companies can be created in any area of the software where custom fields are available (Loan, Customer, Source Company). To assign an associated company to an entity in LoanPro:

  1. Inside the entity you choose, navigate to the custom fields section where the associated company has been created. For example, if you have created an associated company custom field in the Loan Settings Custom Fields and you would like to use it to assign an associated company to a loan, you would navigate inside of the loan to Loan Settings > Settings > EDIT.  You will see the custom field you have created in the Custom Fields Section.
  2. Select the custom field to assign the loan an associated company from that custom field's directory. To save the changes, select 'Save'.
  3. Once you have selected an associated company, you will see a ‘Company Information’ icon next to the custom field. Select the house icon to quickly see the associated company information. When creating or editing a loan, those custom fields will let you select from the companies in that directory.
