Introduction

The customer-facing website is a simple tool that can serve as a customer portal in lieu of your own website integration. We should stress this out front: our website tool is not nearly as configurable as other parts of the software. It's designed to be a usable system for small lenders without the resources to build their own site, or a stopgap for larger lenders while they build and integrate their own.

The website features several pages on which the style and content can be edited. You can also choose which pages appear on the website at all using the toggle to turn a page on or off.

If you're already familiar with the customer website, you can go directly to our Setting Up a Customer-Facing Website article.

Highlights

You can edit the text and appearance of the site from within LoanPro. Within Settings > Website, there are options to add different pages to the customer website.  You can decide which pages to turn on and create content for them. We'll give more info about configuring these pages in our Website Page Settings article.

Each page's actual content is up to you. Some will include fields where you can enter information (like fields for telephone numbers and emails on the Contact Us page) and others will just include a blank field where you can enter whatever text you want. You can edit with a What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get (WYSIWYG) editor that works something like a word processor, or you can edit with HTML.

Where does the Customer-Facing Website Fit?

A customer-facing website isn't an absolute requirement for every lending operation, but many borrowers will expect modern companies to have a website or application where they can see their balance, make payments, and manage their loan.

If you have custom loan applications in your company account, you can have your borrowers access them through your customer website. Once a borrower has completed an application and your company accepts it, you can instantly create a loan from the information inside of the application.

This Feature is Not

  • The customer-facing website is not perfect. The site is configurable, but there are clear limits to how much it can be changed. As we said at the top of the article, this isn't really meant to be the ultimate website builder — we're not Wix or Squarespace. If you have the resources to build your own website, we recommend that you do so. You'll have more control over the design and layout and won't be limited to the pages we've included.

Before you dive into customization, you might want to read Setting Up a Customer-Facing Website, which explains a bit more about your configuration options, and Website Page Settings, which goes over each page.
